Description
FERTAN was developed more than three decades ago and has been proven to remove rust and corrosion. Unlike other products, it does not cover the existing oxide layer but dissolves the Fe3 layer in a single operation. A new metal composition on the previously corroded surface.
FERTAN dissolves as a rust converter (Fe2) and breaks down into a non-reactive powder. The underlying, non-corrosive Fe2 is protected by the new metal compound. The FERTAN rust converter can be used on light rust, rust and bare metal and is usually protected against shocks The product is environmentally friendly and consists of water.
Properties:
- Completely dissolves rust rather than merely covering it
- Easy to apply (roller, brush or spray gun)
- Can be painted over with all standard primers and paints
- Can also be used in cavities
- Good creep effect

Use:
- The area to be treated must be free of dirt, oil, grease and silicone, so the metal must be clean but not rust free.
- If the rust is extremely strong, about 5 mm, a second treatment may be necessary.
- FERTAN should be applied at temperatures above 5°C and left to settle for approximately 24-48 hours.
- Always clean the surface with water before final treatment.
- The FERTAN rust converter can be used on wet surfaces.
